Sheasham on revenge mission

Sweswe meets Dynamos for the second time this season, albeit with a different team as Sheasham are set to host Dynamos at Bata Stadium.

SHEASHAM coach Lizwe Sweswe is not reading much into Dynamos’ boardroom wrangles, with the mentor expecting the DeMbare players to try all means to impress interim coach Genesis Mangombe in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match in Gweru on Sunday.

Sweswe meets Dynamos for the second time this season, albeit with a different team as Sheasham are set to host Dynamos at Bata Stadium.

In his first encounter with the Glamour Boys this term, he inspired Bulawayo Chiefs to a 3-2 win and this time, he meets the same team, but under a different coach following the sacking, reinstatement and suspension of Herbert Maruwa.

Under Sweswe, the Gweru team is yet to lose a league match, having also accounted for FC Platinum and Chicken Inn.

Sweswe has brought a buzz in the team and now the topflight league newcomers are confident that they can avenge the 4-0 drubbing they suffered at the hands of Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium earlier in the season.

The former FC Platinum coach is approaching the match with caution acknowledging the mammoth task at hand.

“This is a big game. Big games are for big boys and I hope the team will rise to the occasion. Preparations are going so well, everyone is putting in the effort. They are working hard at training knowing this is a big game,” he said.

“Winning such a big game boosts me and team’s morale in camp. But we are approaching it with caution. They (Dynamos) are under a new technical department which means every player would want to impress the coach,” Sweswe said.

Sheasham are still immersed in the relegation mud, although they have the same number of points as Triangle and Simba Bhora, who are above them and outside the danger zone.

They are one of only two sides in the topflight yet to reach double figures in terms of goals, but under Sweswe, they have looked good to preserve their place in the topflight league.
