TAWANDA TAFIRENYIKA CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe says he has been impressed by the atmosphere in the dressing room, at training as well as on the field of play as the Harare football giants seek to pick themselves up after a dismal run in the first round.
Chitembwe was speaking ahead of a tough clash against Manica Diamonds on Sunday. The Green Machine still have sad memories of their visit to Sakubva in Mutare where goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga had the nightmare of retrieving the ball six times from the nets in what was one of their biggest defeat in years.
But the performance in the recent games has given the Caps Utd gaffer more grounds for optimism.
“The preparations have gone well and this is another important task, very difficult task but doable. It is unfortunate that things did not go according to plan in the last couple of months but we know our capacity as Caps,” Chitembwe said. “We know what we are capable of achieving and we will go out there with the belief that we are capable of winning matches and doing what this club stands for.
“The spirit at training and in matches has been good. You can see the difference from the past couple of months. We hope to build up on the positives we have had from the recent performances,” he said.
Caps Utd are also looking to add Tafadzwa Kutinyu, who is training with them in their books as they seek to bolster the squad during this transfer window.
Chitembwe also revealed midfielder Blessing Sarupinda might make his debut on Sunday if he is cleared.
Caps are also looking to sign Ali Sadiki.
