DeMbare, Bosso face tough schedule

DYNAMOS and Highlanders face a tough schedule which begins with the Independence Cup final in Murambinda tomorrow before they return home for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matches against TelOne and Chicken Inn, respectively.

Bosso yesterday embarked on the 564km seven-hour road trip from Bulawayo to Mutare, where the teams are lodged.

They will travel from Mutare to Murambinda on match day.

The Bulawayo giants will make another gruelling trip back home on Friday and have one day to prepare for the Bulawayo derby against Chicken Inn.

Dynamos are also in danger of fatigue, having to travel 263km to Mutare before the 163km journey to Murambinda.

Simba Bhora, who play Manica Diamonds today, are also in danger of fatigue, having travelled from Shamva to Mutare yesterday before proceeding to Murambinda today.

After their match today, they have a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Bulawayo Chiefs in Bulawayo this weekend.

Because of the long trips and the timing of the Independence celebrations, some of the teams requested the Premier Soccer League to postpone their league matches, but were turned down.

Underfire Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe ill-affords defeats in the two matches with the axe hovering over his head.

Alarm bells are tolling for Mangombe with just one win, three draws and two defeats, leaving The Glamour Boys on position 14 with a paltry six points from a possible 18.

Bosso face a tough Chicken Inn side, who are under the guidance of Joey Antipas.

When Chicken Inn was at home last April, the two sides played a goalless stalemate, but in the reverse fixture, the GameCocks claimed the City of Kings and Queens bragging rights with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bosso.

Highlanders continue with their fine form in the league, ruling the roost with 14 points and are yet to lose a match in six games.

Chicken Inn have been blowing hot and cold with two wins, three draws and one defeat and are on the position four with nine points on the table.

On Saturday, they dispatched visiting Green Fuel 2-0 at Luveve, their first win at home and that victory is a big boost for the GameCocks.

Highlanders striker Brighton Ncube, a former Chicken Inn forward, will be the player to watch on Sunday against his former paymasters.

Ncube scored one goal for Chicken Inn last season and has banged in three for Highlanders in just six games.

Caps United are away to Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium on Sunday, while FC Platinum are back home on Saturday against Bikita Minerals.

Simba Bhora, who have been doing well so far and sitting on position two on the log-table after dismissing Dynamos at the weekend, are away to Bulawayo Chiefs at Luveve on Sunday.

Saturday: FC Platinum v Bikita Minerals (Mandava). ZPC Kariba v Arenel Movers (Nyamhunga), Green Fuel v Herentals (Green Fuel), Yadah v Chegutu Pirates (Heart), Manica Diamonds v Caps United (Sakubva)
