Will Young Gemini reclaim Queen of hiphop status status?

Young Gemini had boasted  that she was not in any form of competition after winning the Zim Hip Hop Awards last year.

RAPPER Young Gemini will face a stiff challenge in her quest to retain her title as the Zimbabwean hip hop queen at the upcoming Zim Hip Hop Awards on December 15.

Young Gemini will be battling seasoned hip hop artistes like Noluntu J, Brucella, Millz Million, Banshee and Natasha Muz at the 7 Arts Theatre.

Young Gemini had boasted  that she was not in any form of competition after winning the Zim Hip Hop Awards last year.

"I feel happy about the award but now I am a bit pressured to maintain the works I have been putting on and also to show that the award is rightfully mine," Young Gemini said to Standard Style.

"Winning the award was not a stiff competition at all because no one on that nominees list had worked so hard this year like I did. I released a mixtape and an album that had been well streamed and no female there had put out as much content as I did."

We wait to see if the rapper will reclaim her Zim Hip Hop Queen status or she will surrender it to her peers.

The upcoming edition of the awards, themed 'Evolution', will celebrate 50 years of the hip hop genre, which initially emerged as a niche movement in New York in the early 1970s and has since grown to become the world's most prominent musical genre, influencing various aspects of modern music and pop culture.
