Zimbabwean golfer Scott Vincent is set to make his return to the LIV Golf League in about two weeks’ time as one of five wildcard players for the 2026 season.
The 33-year-old, who was relegated from the franchise in 2024, completed a swift one-season redemption arc by finishing at the top of the International Series Order of Merit.
As a wildcard entrant, Vincent will compete exclusively as an individual rather than as a member of a four-man team. His campaign begins in two weeks at Riyadh Golf Club, where the league will debut a unique “Golf After Dark” format under floodlights from February 4–7.
While Vincent competes for the individual title, the 2026 season features an expanded field of 57 players, including 13 four-man teams.
Several units have undergone significant branding changes during the off-season. The 13 teams competing this year include Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC, Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC and Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC.
Phil Mickelson continues to lead the HyFlyers GC, while Jon Rahm captains Legion XIII. The Majesticks GC remains under the joint leadership of Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood, while Bubba Watson captains the RangeGoats GC and Cameron Smith leads the Australia-based Ripper GC.
Following the high-profile exit of Brooks Koepka to the PGA Tour, Talor Gooch has been appointed the new captain of Smash GC. Joaquin Niemann remains at the helm of Torque GC.
Two teams have introduced new identities for the 2026 season. The Iron Heads GC has been rebranded as the Korean Golf Club, now captained by new signing Byeong Hun An with an all-Korean lineup.

Meanwhile, the South Africa-led Stinger GC has changed its name to the Southern Guards, captained by Louis Oosthuizen.
Vincent’s return is the result of a dominant 2025 campaign on the Asian Tour’s International Series. Needing a top finish to reclaim his status, the Olympian delivered a signature victory at the International Series Morocco and a runner-up finish in Jakarta.
He enters the 2026 season as a seasoned veteran of the circuit, having previously played for Torque GC and the Iron Heads.
Before joining LIV, Vincent built a global reputation on the Japan Golf Tour and Asian Tour, amassing five professional wins.
Vincent is part of a high-profile quintet of individual competitors. Joining the Zimbabwean in the wildcard ranks is Japan’s Yosuke Asaji, who claimed the second spot offered through the International Series.
The remaining spots were filled via the LIV Golf Promotions event by Canada’s Richard T. Lee, who won the qualifier in Florida by five shots, and Sweden's Bjorn Hellgren. Rounding out the group is American Anthony Kim, who returns for his third consecutive season as a wildcard after earning his way back following his own relegation last year.
The season opener at Riyadh Golf Club promises a shift in tradition, with all four rounds taking place at night. While the cooler evening temperatures provide relief for spectators, the competition is expected to be intense as Vincent rejoins a field featuring major champions like Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.
“It feels special in a different way," Vincent said of his return.
“Losing my card was tough, but I’m proud of how I responded.” Vincent’s return cements his status as Zimbabwe’s premier golfing export and marks a historic milestone as he prepares to lead the charge for African representation in the lucrative league.
