All set for Marume Classic

Marume Classic is the brainchild of four-time Mr Zimbabwe and six-time Mr Ironman winner, Givemore Marume.

SEASONED bodybuilder Noah Dzvokora is expected to face stiff competition in his bid to defend his title at this year's edition of the Marume Classic slated for September 30, in Harare.

Top bodybuilders from around the country have been lined up, including the popular Gideon Teguru and Nunurai Masosonere who will compete for first place in the Senior Men Bodybuilding division.

Wingrace Masendeke and Joseph Lizeleo Dos Santos will present Blessing Sithole "CC Banks" with fierce competition in the Men's physique category.

“Preparations are now in progress and we are getting a lot of positive feedback from the athletes who are interested in taking part.

“Athletes from regional countries like Zambia, Malawi, among others have promised to come and participate. It’s going to be a bigger and better event than previous editions,” Marume told NewsDay Sport.

Athletes will take part in six categories which include junior men bodybuilding (23 years and below), men’s fitness, men’s physique, women’s wellness, women’s bikini fitness and  men’s senior bodybuilding as well as new categories including novice  and women fit-model.

Saltrama Plastics is the main sponsor together with Premier Guest Lodge and Arch 360 Branding.

More than 60 athletes are expected to register for the event.
