Woman wins peace order against son

Sophia Tsakundwa told Harare magistrate Sharon Mashavira that her son, Darlington Zengenene, has been tormenting her since 2012.

A DOMBOSHAVA woman has been granted a protection order against her 29-year-old son who she claims is possessed by evil spirits.

Sophia Tsakundwa told Harare magistrate Sharon Mashavira that her son, Darlington Zengenene, has been tormenting her since 2012.

“I have tried seeking spiritual and medical help, all in vain,” she said.

“My son is now a grown man and I want him to leave my house because I am tired of being embarrassed by him. He calls me a prostitute, assaults me and insults me using obscene language.”

She added: “In 2019, he ripped my work uniform and tore the clothes I was wearing, leaving me naked.

“Recently, he came when me and my grandchildren were about to eat and he snatched away the food and threw it to stray dogs.”

The respondent did not dispute the allegations, but could not explain his strange behaviour.

He accused his mother of trying to destroy his marriage.

Mashavira ordered Zengenene to stay away from his mother’s place and desist from verbally abusing, assaulting and calling her names.
