Sikhala’s 8th freedom bid flops

Job Sikhala

OPPOSITION Zengeza West MP Job Sikhala’s bail appeal at the High Court in a case he is accused of defeating the course of justice and incitement to violence was yesterday dismissed by Justice Rogers Manyangadze.

It was his eighth bail appeal.

Sikhala has been in remand prison since June 14 charged with incitement to public violence over the murder of opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Moreblessing Ali.

He is jointly charged with fellow CCC MP Godfrey Sithole and 14 other Nyatsime residents.

Sikhala faces a separate charge of obstructing the course of justice after he implicated Zanu PF in Ali’s murder.

In his latest bail application, Sikhala through his lawyers had submitted that his lengthy remand incarceration without trial warranted his release.
