PAN-AFRICAN hospitality group Cresta Hotels has completed a comprehensive refurbishment of all 65 bedrooms and suites at Cresta Sprayview in Victoria Falls, reinforcing its investment in Zimbabwe’s fast-growing tourism sector.
The upgrade covers the hotel’s 60 standard rooms and five suites, all of which now feature refreshed décor, new fittings and contemporary open-closet designs.
Bathrooms have been fully renovated, while the exterior of the property has also undergone a facelift to align with modern resort aesthetics.
Landscaping across the property has been extensively revamped, with redesigned gardens, flowerbeds and lawns enhancing the hotel’s signature “clean and green” look.
The refurbished bedroom wings now blend more seamlessly into the expansive grounds, offering guests a relaxed, nature-inspired stay just minutes from the Victoria Falls.

Cresta Hotels managing director Rutendo Badenhorst said the refurbishment forms part of the group’s ongoing strategy to maintain competitiveness and elevate the guest experience at one of the resort town’s most established properties.
“Within the Cresta group we have a standard policy of regular refurbishment programmes in all our hotels, to allow for maintenance of the highest standards of physical infrastructure and to meet ever-increasing guest expectations,” Badenhorst said.

While the group did not disclose the capital outlay for the Victoria Falls project, Cresta has, over recent years, refurbished most of its properties in Zimbabwe.
These include Harare-based hotels Cresta Lodge and Cresta Jameson, as well as Cresta Churchill in Bulawayo, where extensive upgrades were recently completed across all bedrooms and suites, including new soft and hard furnishings and improved bathrooms.
Cresta Group operates hotels across Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. Its local portfolio includes Cresta Lodge, Cresta Oasis and Cresta Jameson in Harare, Cresta Churchill in Bulawayo, and Cresta Sprayview in Victoria Falls.
Cresta Sprayview holds a special place in the history of Victoria Falls hospitality. Originally built by the Gardini family, it opened as Peter’s Motel, becoming the third hotel established in the resort town. It was later renamed Victoria Falls Motel before being acquired by Cresta Group in 2013 and rebranded as Cresta Sprayview.
“We are very proud of the ongoing success and achievements of Cresta Sprayview, which fills an important niche in Victoria Falls as a destination for international, regional and local tourists, as well as hosting small to medium conferences and banqueting events,” Badenhorst said.
She added that the resurgence of travel into and across Zimbabwe has provided a strong incentive for continued investment in hospitality infrastructure.
“The exciting growth of travel and tourism into and across Zimbabwe is a major boost for all of us in the sector and it is important for us to remain industry leaders in our field of operations, which means continuous improvement to physical infrastructure, service and operational activity,” Badenhorst said.
Further upgrades are already underway at Cresta Sprayview, with refurbishments of the hotel’s restaurant, lounge and bars scheduled for completion in 2026.
The hotel is managed by Patience Musonza, who also chairs the Victoria Falls chapter of the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe.
