FROM the dusty streets of Queens Park in Bulawayo to an internationally-recognised performing act, T3rry Tempo, born Terrence Kubonga Sibanda is making waves as a rapper with his music being appreciated beyond the country’s borders.
The rapper began performing on the streets of Bulawayo along with a few artistes and friends in 2017.
T3rry Tempo is a dynamic hip-hop artiste with a unique vocal ability. He has an appeal on the new generation which has affectionately tagged him “Bulawayo’s Golden Boy.”
He was also part of the successful Masiye Phambili, a Bulawayo anthem sung by Vusa Mkhaya that also features an array of Bulawayo’s finest.
“I decided to follow my passion for music and envisioned a nation-wide fan base. My first singles Been Focused and No Heart No Love from my first mixtape 5XGREATER got positive acceptance. Those two singles made it to the charts. They were also my first international feature with Nigeria-based rapper Young Face,” he noted.
“It broke the Kfm record on 12 plus weeks on number one with the song Been Focused produced by Washa T and the remix featuring Sparkels from Ghana climbing up to number four on the Ghana radio charts.”
He wants the world to recognise him as a versatile artiste.
“My sound is not bound or limited to one specific genre. I am an artiste at heart and I love to speak through my music. Moments is my first official studio extended play produced by Loshy and it features locals Tehn Diamond and Travor Phillip and international acts namely T-K (a Nigerian rap) Thiia (an Australian vocalist) and Nyrfa (a French vocalist).”
