Baldmin Projects clinches deal with Chinese firm

Zimbabwean diversified firm Baldmin Holdings has clinched a deal to be a sole distributor for Chinese firm FTM Group in Africa.

As the part of the deal, Baldmin will be responsible for all sales in the region including warehouse for spares , mining equipment and other engineering related equipment.

The agreements also allows Baldmin projects to assemble some of the equipment in Zimbabwe and South Africa including sharing of designs among others.

“ So far we are the only company in Africa to be trusted with FTM to handle and assemble it’s equipment in the region and after three years we will be exclusive agent in sub Saharan territory for the group. 

“This comes at a time when the new dispensation is promoting investments in the country by locals in parternship with foreign companies also in line with vision 2030,” Baldmin Holdings said in a statement.

 “ The chief executive and founder Engineer Costar Takawira is excited to be part of this venture and believes that it will create employment in the country and bring required foreign currency and boost the economy.”

Takawira said the recent visit to China after being invited by several companies willing to work with them in Zimbabwe was a success and more is to come in the near future.

This comes at a time when Baldmin Projects was awarded a big tender in the midlands region for Arum mining for a complete gold process plant and shaft sinking with a subcontractor called Ramangwana mining.

 The project is estimated at above $1.4 million for everything the client wants set up at the mine. 

The plant is estimated at US$814, 000 for engineering services including civils and installations and we have an additional order for phase two to put up a complete 20-50tph crushing circuit 

“ They will work on the dump for now whilst developing shafts and new plant to process the runoff mine . The mine is wholly owned by a Zimbabwean family and partners who are determined to see the mining industry grow.

 With such partnerships more mining industries will benefit in SADC region beside Zimbabwe,” the company said.

Baldmin holdings group is also putting a massive warehouse and workshop in Harare were they acquired a 7ha plot for the business. 

Civils Designs and Structural drawings are now complete and the works will commence end of October 2023 and this should run until Feb 2024 . 

Currently Baldmin Projects is doing its works in Graniteside until the new plant is finished which will triple its production capacity and employ over 20 technicians in its assembly lines including machine shop. 

State of the art machinery was procured in China through its South African company (Head office)based in Benoni and expected delivery is scheduled for end of December 2023.
