STRIKER Nyasha Mushekwi will not sign for Belgian side KV Oostende after his current employers Sundowns failed to reach an agreement with his suitors.
Mushekwi will however keep training with the Pro League side while pondering the next move as Sundowns have already made plans for the season that do not involve him.
Warriors forward Khama Billiat announced yesterday that he would be signing for Sundowns having dithered on that deal for several days as he monitored the Mushekwi situation.
Sources revealed that Billiat was not sure about signing for Sundowns because he feared he might face the same problems that Mushekwi is facing now, if European opportunities open up.
Mushekwi’s agent Ralph Nkomo told the South African media on Friday that the deal had fallen through but they would continue looking for clubs in the same country.
“Nyasha will not be signing the two clubs failed to reach an agreement,” said Nkomo.
“The boy is understandably devastated but the two teams tried for six weeks to reach an agreement, but they couldn’t. We have to go back to the drawing board and see best how we can help the boy. I told him to keep training with the club because a player of his quality can always find another club that side. Coming to Sundowns wouldn’t make sense they have replaced him and he wants to play abroad.”
