Zimbabwean premium reggae and dancehall sound house Judgement Yard is next month expected to embark on their first foreign tour.
Pencilled for July 27, the show is scheduled for Purple Turtle, Long Street in Cape Town, South Africa.
This comes after a stellar performance during their maiden Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) appearance where they played as the closing act.
At Hifa, many festival goers conceded the closing show was the biggest party ever and reggae and dancehall music lovers at the Cape should brace for a memorable gig.
Born almost five years ago, Judgement Yard became talk of the town playing at the then vibrant Mereki Shopping Centre in Warren Park before they invaded Red Fox Hotel in Greendale where they have become a household name.
They have popularised the venue into a prime spot for reggae music lovers hosting a number touring reggae musicians.
The travelling party consists of DJs Flavour and 2Bad together with their MC Etherton B and Asha B.
DJ Flavour said his camp was thrilled with the South African tour.
“We are really excited about our growth and we are looking forward to the Cape Town gig,” he said.
“It’s not only in South Africa where we are going to perform this year, but big tings agwan (sic). Watch this space, Judgement Yard is a big movement.”
