KINGDOM Financial Holdings chief executive officer Lynn Mukonoweshuro scooped the Most Customer Focused Executive award at the Zimbabwe Service Excellence Awards held in Harare recently.

In the fast foods sector Chicken Slice won the top prize, with Chicken Inn coming second while TN Mart and Grill was third. Econet Wireless Zimbabwe came first in the information and communication technology (ICT) and telecommunications category, followed by Telecel Zimbabwe, with NetOne in third place.
Midlands State University scooped first prize in the tertiary education category; the University of Zimbabwe came second while Africa University was third.
CBZ Bank came tops followed by BancABC and Kingdom Bank in the Banking and Financial Services category.
In the transport category Pathfinder won first prize, with City Link coming second and Pioneer third.
The Minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion Tapiwa Mashakada, who was guest of honour at the awards organised by Contact Centre Association of Zimbabwe, said the customer was unimportant in the country until 2009 when businesses started respecting the customer.
He urged companies, private and public, to go back to basics and reopen their call centres so that the customer could get what he/she deserves. He said the middle class was re-emerging in Zimbabwe and it expected good customer service.
Mashakada encouraged companies to service the community well since it was a key equation in managing businesses.
