Dubbed When Mbira Meets Jazz, the show is slated for the National Gallery of Zimbabwe on Tuesday, October 23.
Masike said she always finds herself between the two genres hence her decision to “marry” them. Masike, who recently collaborated with hip-hop outfit Monkey Nuts during the just ended Shoko Festival, said she is looking forward to the experience.
“So far it has been such a lovely, working marriage. I look forward to the 23rd because it will be a novel experience, even for me.
“Most importantly, I look forward to sharing the experience with my fans”, Masike said.
The show is set to feature traditional Zimbabwean sounds and will also go down memory lane with recitations of the music of the likes of Billie Holiday, Rachael Farrell and Eva Cassidy.
“The concert will be a feast for music lovers with a rich instrumental mix of jazz and traditional vibes,” she said.
