Two goalkeepers, two midfielders and three strikers were cleared yesterday.
Warriors goalie Tapuwa Kapini left a void in goals after sustaining an injury and conveniently experienced goalkeepers Ephraim Mazarura and Energy Murambadoro are among cleared players.
Gumbo has been lamenting his limited options up front where the team has in recent months been over reliant on Knowledge Musona and Gumbo now he can beef up his squad with in-form South Africa- based duo duo Cuthbert Malajila and Kingston Nkatha, as well as Edward Sadomba who plies his trade in Sudan.
The other players who have been cleared are Justice Majabvi and Kaizer Chiefs’ Lincoln Zvasiya.
Zifa president Cuthbert Dube yesterday told reporters at a press conference that a final report would be released on Thursday next week after prolonged delay.
No official or coach has been cleared yet, fuelling suspicion that the latest list was drawn up to assists the Warriors’ cause.
Warriors team manager Nyika Chifamba who was present at the press conference was ecstatic that the players had been cleared, adding this would strengthen the squad for the crucial second leg Afcon qualifier against Angola.
