SOUTH African songbird Zahara is set to rock Harareans today at Borrowdale Racecourse’s Fusion Club.
Bulawayo’s Queen’s Sports Club will be her next port of call tomorrow where she will be joined by reggae/dancehall singer Winky D.
This is her second foray into Zimbabwe following her debut performance in March in which she endeared herself to local fans.
The Capetonian recently scooped eight South African Music Awards with her debut album Loliwe selling 100 000 copies in just 17 days.
Local crooner, Alexio Kawara, who is also going to share the stage with Zahara, said he was more than ready for the gig.
“I am always ready; in fact, gigs have to be ready for me,” he said.
“We have done all that needed to be done and come Friday (today) we will rock Zahara,” Kawara said.
Zahara is expected to embark on a tour of Harare today before her performance and lunch at Endaweni Restaurant, Belgravia.
Zee Ncube, proprietor of the restaurant last week promised the artist the best of her vegetable spinach.
“There will be a spinach special for Zahara and all the other artists that are involved in the tour so that maybe everyone will appreciate why we love the vegetable so much,” said Ncube.
Meanwhile the concert organisers Hardcore World Entertainment have said tickets for the VVIP section are fast running out.
“The tickets are fast running out and we are happy with the response from music lovers,” said Tawanda Chingara, Hardcore World Entertainment spokesperson.
