Zanu PF Stole 2008 Elections

THE Herald recently claimed that Deputy Prime Minister, Arthur Mutambara’s utterances led to the disruption of the Second Ministerial Retreat held in Nyanga.

Although it is debatable that Mutambara led to the disruptions of the retreat, it is however, correct and factual for him to say that the June 27 2008, presidential election run-off was “fraudulent, a nullity and a farce”.
It is only a pity that Zanu PF ministers are still in denial mode as they don’t want to accept that their president, Robert Mugabe lost the elections last year to MDC president, Morgan Tsvangirai.
It is very worrying to notice that Zanu PF ministers including Patrick Chinamasa –– who also lost in the elections last year –– to find it hard to accept that Zanu PF was involved in violence last year, when it lost the harmonised elections to the MDC.
They are only in the inclusive government through the use of violence, which led to the death of hundreds of innocent civilians whose crime was only to vote for a truly democratic party, the MDC.
Mutambara was right in blaming Zanu PF for its fraud. It was only the platform that he used, that was not perfect.
