Carrying fuel in containers not illegal

DESPITE what the Ministry of Energy and the police would like us to believe, it is not illegal for ordinary motorists to carry fuel in containers without permits.

ace=”Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif”>The ministry first said that “regulations” prevented the carrying of fuel in containers.

It then “clarified” this by saying that only “guidelines” had been introduced and in special cases no permits were needed.

Both the ministry and the police know very well, however, that guidelines do not have the force of law and can safely be disregarded.

If your container was “confiscated” by the police at a roadblock, tell them you want it back. They will immediately comply, of course (and pigs will fly).
