YOUR paper seems to be misinformed about the re-issuing of private abattaoir licences.
Apparently the six main abattoirs that have run the beef industry for a number of years have not had their licences renewed although the Agric
ulture Ministry recommended that they should be issued as their facilities are far better than the 42 approved.
Why has Pama Meats, Surrey Abattoir, Bulawayo Abattoir, Carswell Meats, Montana Meats and Koala not been relicensed? Is it because they are white-owned?
These would have been the ones that can alleviate the meat shortages as they run feedlots.
I don’t see why your paper is not getting to the bottom of this.
