Cresta will provide management expertise to a four-star hotel, Cresta Crossroads located in Lilongwe.

To date, Cresta manages and operates 13 hotels in Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Ghana with a strong international representation in South Africa, Europe, America and Asia. The venture in Malawi is endowed with state-of-the-art facilities such as the comprehensive conference facilities, rated among one of the best in Lilongwe.

“The hotel has been designed to offer superior service to the discerning business and tourist traveller,” Cresta said. Cresta’s group sales and marketing manager Norman Moyo told businessdigest this week that there had been an escalating demand for professional hotel management companies in the region.

“Cresta Hospitality’s home-grown concept has found a lot of favour in the region compared to generic brands,” Moyo said.

Cresta has been in the hospitality business for the past 40 years and has been instrumental in turning around distressed hotels in the region.

“Cresta Hospitality is now recognised as a regional powerhouse in hotel management with a primary focus on profitably managing hotels, resorts and lodges on behalf of shareholders and individual hotel owners,” Moyo said.

“The group’s biggest asset is its competent management expertise in the mid market three to four-star hotels and a reputation in successfully turning around distressed hotels into viable and profitable entities delivering superior returns to shareholders”.

Cresta Hospitality’s market consists of hotel property owners with properties in fast-growing primary centres of commerce in African cities.

“These property owners are keen on growing their business with the assistance of the services of a professional hotel manager,” the group said.

The group owns three distinct brands – Cresta Hotels, Cresta Lodges and Cresta Resorts which have now become household names in southern Africa.
