THE Zimbabwe team that recently returned from the World BMX Championships held in the Netherlands brought home two winners’ plates. Eleven-year-old Amy Pollen returned with the world number thre
e plate after a fine performance. Kurt Pollen (6) brought home the world number four plate.
Only three riders, including seven-year-old Scott Donaldson who failed to win any honours, represented Zimbabwe, which had the smallest team at this year’s championships.
Sandy Rowan, the secretary for Harare BMX Club, said the team had performed well. “I must say we are all so proud of the kids and what they have achieved for themselves and Zimbabwe.
“Congratulations must also go to Richard Pollen, the team trainer, as well as Andrew Donaldson who assisted him.”
Meanwhile, the Har-are BMX Club will be holding their prize giving ceremony, where the stars from the World Championships will show off their medals and plates.
