CLEVELAND Pistol Club stole the limelight in a two-stage practical pistol match they hosted at the Harare Shooting Sport Complex last weekend. The tournament attracted 21 competitors. <
The match consisted of a standard exercises event, which required 25 rounds to complete, and a long course which could be shot in 18 rounds, but often saw competitors shooting after 18 rounds due to its demanding nature.
Cleveland took the honours in the standard exercises stage when Tich Atkinson, shooting in standard gun class, out-shot others with an overall score of 55 points.
Atkinson’s stablemate Don Heath was second with a score of 51. Ira Larivers took bronze with 49 points.
In the women’s category, Caroline Hilton-Dean took the honours with a score of 45.
In the in the long course, Harare’s Paul Friendship maintained his dominance.
