THE Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ) is scheduled to hold an annual conference next week to discuss problems affecting the industry in a hyperinf
lationary environment which threaten the survival of many companies in the country.
IIZ president, Lovemore Madavo, said the industry would seek to address the challenges of e-commerce, specifically for brokers who were middlemen in the insurance selling process.
“We are going through a turbulent time as an industry and some of the players in the insurance industry are facing an erosion of value on their products due to the environment. We are looking at building on capacity, the balance sheet and human capital as well,” said Madavo.
The conference is expected to be graced by speakers from Tanzania, India, Zambia and South Africa.
