I NOTE with great interest that the RBZ is closing asset management companies due to poor corporate governance and accounting controls.
Whistleblowers have got ti
red due to non-action on the part of the RBZ on reported cases. It is surprising that with all information pertaining to alleged irregularities supplied, the authorities don’t act.
Their challenge seems to have become the protection of the whistleblower who in some instances meets RBZ officers and at times makes telephone calls.
The RBZ should seriously look at all offenders including micro-lending companies, otherwise its operations reek of suspicion.
