THE government’s efforts to weed out corruption in the financial sector and other areas is sweet music to all Zimbabweans.
However I would like to bring to light
the corruption which is rife in the education sector. A lot of students graduating from teacher’s colleges are unable to secure teaching vacancies in Harare. The argument is that new graduates are not supposed to teach in Harare.
The problem is that few schools in the rural areas offer subjects like computer science. But there is a shortage of computer science teachers in Harare. All computer science graduates from Belvedere Teachers College have not managed to secure places.
I hope this will come to the light of the responsible authorities. Those who are securing temporary teaching posts for their relatives at the expense of qualified personnel should be punished.
