BY STYLE REPORTER CONCRETE products manufacturer Pavcon Industries on Friday scooped the Top Brand in the Construction Sector award at the Zimbabwe CEOs Network awards ceremony held in the capital.

Several companies and business leaders were rewarded for their “contribution to the country’s business space”.

Pavcon’s stock continues rise and has become a force to reckon with on the local scene, with sights now firmly set on spreading the firm’s wings across Zimbabwe and beyond the country’s borders.

The company, which was established in 2005, has grown from strength to strength, thanks to the shrewd leadership of its founder and MD Shelton Paza.

“The award is a reflection of what Pavcon Industries is contributing to the development of the country,” said Paza.

“We weathered the Covid- 19 pandemic, through adaptation to the normal, which saw the introduction of new technologies.

“Speaking of technologies, we, as the trend-setter, we have imported state-of-the-art 3D technologies so as to enable our broad customer base to tailor make their products. In short, our customers get a say in the final product being manufactured.”

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Pavcon Industries recently bankrolled a sports tourney in Mhondoro-Ngezi where primary schools battled for honours in various sporting disciplines.

The businessman in the company of Chedenga Foundation also donated shoes, socks, jerseys and tracksuits to vulnerable pupils at St Joseph Mupereki Primary School in Mhondoro-Ngezi.

“We hope to keep on ploughing back to our communities and as Pavcon Industries, we decided to make the sports tournament an annual event and we will keep on working with various partners like Chedenga Foundation to assist vulnerable groups of people.”

Paza is a product of St Joseph Mupereki Primary School.

He said Pavcon Industries, which is registered with the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe, is committed to the development of the country in line with the National Development Strategy 1.
