Zim musicians nominated for SA's 16 Crown Gospel

In a statement, Gospel Awards SA public relations officer Glodine Makapela said Mlalazi was nominated for Best of Africa Gospel award and will be competing with six other nominees from Botswana and Nigeria while Nyathi is nominated for Best Gospel Album.

ZIMBABWE born musicians Everton Mlalazi from Harare and Canaan Nyathi from Matabeleland North have been  nominated for this year's 16th annual Crown Gospel Awards taking place today (Sunday), at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In a statement, Gospel Awards SA public relations officer Glodine Makapela said Mlalazi was nominated for Best of Africa Gospel award and will be competing with six other nominees from Botswana and Nigeria while Nyathi is nominated for Best Gospel Album.

"The awards promise to be a star-studded event of media personalities from across Africa, gospel musicians, music producers and executives walking on the gold carpet. The crowns awards are not only a night of spectacular performances and awards, but also a showcase of fashion, style and couture designs. The gold carpet will be graced by the crème de la crème of African fashionistas, influencers, gospel artists and public figures," reads the statement.

"This will be a night to remember, with an atmosphere of glitz and glamour. You'll be able to spot the latest trends, discover new designers and experience the creativity of the African fashion scene. This will be a night where fashion meets music, and anything goes. Makapela noted that the stage has been decked out with stunning lights, a giant dome and the finest sound system to make this the most spectacular and unforgettable Crowns Awards yet.

"Get ready for an evening of incredible performances from the best in gospel music, including Jumbo, Ntokozo Ngongoma, Ayanda Ntanzi, Tshwane Gospel Choir and many more. With stunning choreography and an exciting concept, this will be a night to remember. From the moment the first artist steps onto the stage to the final encore, you'll be on the edge of your seat. Get ready for an extra special night," read the statement.
