ZIMBABWE cricket star Blessing Muzarabani will have another opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the leading figures in world cricket after being signed by the Northern Warriors for this season’s Abu Dhabi T10 League in the United Arab Emirates.
Some of the world’s biggest cricket stars in the shorter formats of the game such as South Africa’s Faf du Plessis, Windies stars Andre Russell, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and the England pair of Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy have taken part in the 10 overs per side competition.
The fifth season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, which will get underway following the conclusion of this year’s T20 World Cup has been slated for November 19 to December 4.
The 25-year-old Zimbabwe fast bowler was one of the players to be signed up in the tournament draft, which featured a whopping 1 186 players from 26 cricketing nations who were all hoping to find suitors.
Muzarabani joins the Northern Warriors, who are two-time winners of the event and the reigning Abu Dhabi T10 League champions.
In addition to Muzarabani, the Northern Warriors have acquired a fantastic combination of players which includes Moeen Ali, Rovman Powell, Imran Tahir, Upul Tharanga, Rayad Emrit, Reece Topley, Samit Patel, Kenar Lewis, Mithun Abhimanyu, Kaunain Abbas, Umair Ali, Rameez Shahzad, Josh Little, Abdul Wahid Bangalzai, and Ross Whiteley.
In confirming Muzarabani’s arrival, the Northern Warriors described the hardworking Zimbabwean star as a consistent performer in the shorter versions of the game.

Muzarabani will be making his second high profile stint in franchise cricket abroad after enjoying an impressive debut season for Multan Sultans in their successful Pakistan Super League campaign.
The lanky bowler wrote his own piece of history after he became the first Zimbabwean to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) following Multan Sultans’ 47-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi in the final, in Abu Dhabi in June.
During the stint in the PSL Muzarabani had the opportunity to work with Zimbabwean cricket legend Andy Flower, who was coach of the Multan Sultans.
He will be eager to make another good impression in the 10-over-a-side ICC-sanctioned league that brands itself as “cricket’s fastest format”.
The T10 format sees both teams bowl 10 overs each while the match lasts for only 90 minutes.
