ZGA credits FBC Holdings for Zim Open success

Chikwana was full of praise for the title sponsors.

The Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) president Martin Chikwana credited title sponsors FBC Holdings for the growth of the event in the country and on the international stage.

FBC Holdings decided to become title sponsors for the Sunshine Tour co-sanctioned event in 2022 and have increased the prize money for the event in each year, pouring US$200 000 this year.

The prize fund translates to an increase from 2.5 million last year to 3 million in Rand terms.

The 2025 FBC Zim Open will run from May 4-11 , at Royal Harare Golf Club with the main championship set to tee off on May 8.

ZGA is the parent body under which the Zim Open is organised.

Chikwana was full of praise for the title sponsors.

“Let me begin by extending my deepest gratitude to FBC Holdings, our esteemed title sponsor for their unwavering commitment to supporting the Zimbabwe Open for the fourth consecutive year. Your investment in this tournament is not just a financial contribution, but a demonstration of your dedication to the growth of golf in Zimbabwe and in Africa at large," he said.

“The continued support of FBC Holdings allows us to stage an event of this magnitude and provide a platform for both local and international golfers to showcase their skills. We are proud to have you as part of this event’s success,” Chikwana added.

Other sponsors of the event include Zimre Holdings Limited  who are the associate sponsors for the second year running with Golden Pilsener, Huletts, SeedCo and Firstlink Insurance Brokers coming in as anchor sponsors.

Some of the official tournament partners are Zuva Petroleum, Liquid, African Sun, Guard Alert, Cimas, AMH Media, Rooney’s, Lighthouse, Nomads, Speedlink Cargo, Sahwira Events and Lifestyle.

The 2025 edition of the FBC Zim Open is unique in that it will introduce the charitable side where fundraising for cancer treatment will be done during the tournament.
