Volkswagen has officially launched the new Amarok in markets across Sub-Saharan Africa, including Zimbabwe. The Amarok is produced in South Africa in collaboration with Ford and tailored for the unique demands of the region.
It is now available in Zimbabwe and other markets such as Angola, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zambia, with diesel engine options. For petrol engine enthusiasts, the Amarok is available in Gabon, Ivory Coast and Senegal.
In some markets such as Ghana and Rwanda, the Amarok is locally-assembled at VW’s SKD (semi-knocked-down) facilities using kits imported from South Africa. This local assembly initiative underscores Volkswagen’s commitment to regional economic growth and industrialisation.
The Amarok lineup offers a versatile selection of derivatives, including the Amarok single cab, Amarok double cab and the premium Life, Style, PanAmericana and Aventura trims. All models feature VW’s renowned 4Motion drivetrain, ensuring exceptional off-road and on-road performance.

Designed for rugged work environments, the entry-level single and double cab models feature a 2.0 TDI engine producing 125kW, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
