In the expansive realm of aviation, where the sky symbolizes both the limits and the destinations, some individuals emerge as beacons of dedication and skill. Alessandro Varisco, a seasoned Senior First Officer at Turkish Airlines, exemplifies such luminance. From the moment he set foot in the cockpit of a Boeing 737 NG, his journey has been characterized by resilience, unwavering commitment, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. With an impressive tally of over 9 years of experience since 2014 and an extensive repertoire of global routes, Alessandro's career trajectory has indelibly etched its presence in the worldwide aviation panorama.

Taking Flight: The Odyssey of a First Officer

Since his introduction to the ranks of Turkish Airlines on April 16th, 2019, Alessandro Varisco has embarked on an extraordinary voyage, piloting both the Boeing 737 NG and the 737 MAX-8 and -9 aircraft. Today, assuming the mantle of a Senior First Officer, his flight records serve as a testament to his limitless dedication and professional maturation. In each flight undertaken, he has not solely covered distances but also navigated diverse climates, confronted intricate operations, and finessed his expertise.

Unbounded Exploration: A Sojourn across Frontiers

Alessandro's flights span across continents, weaving through the tapestry of European skies, embracing the horizons of Asia, and forging connections with the nations of North and Central Africa. His role encompasses not only extensive international routes but also domestic flights within the Turkish borders. The diversity of these destinations has not only polished his aviation prowess but also bestowed upon him an insightful understanding of the intricate interplay between distinct terrains, meteorological patterns, and operational complexities.

From Aspiration to Achievement: Early Aeronautical Endeavors

The path to Senior First Officerhood was paved through unrelenting dedication and a dream. Alessandro's journey ignited with the acquisition of his Private Pilot License (PPL) from Elifriulia, Trieste Airport in Italy. Seeking avenues for broader experiences, he embarked on a journey to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to participate in his flight-hour accumulation venture with Airborne Systems Inc. The Piper PA28 aircraft emerged as his steadfast companion, as he logged 100 command hours, amassing invaluable insights into navigating the United States airspace.

Scaling the Pinnacles of Learning: Academic and Aviation Triumphs

For Alessandro, the skies were just the starting point. The CAE Pilot Academy in Oxford provided him a gateway to knowledge, enabling him to surmount the challenges posed by the intricate theoretical Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) exams, totaling 14 in number. Undaunted by barriers, he crossed continents once more, this time to Phoenix, Arizona, to attain his Commercial Pilot License (CPL) for multi-engine aircraft. Returning to Oxford, he further refined his skills, undertaking Instrument Rating (IR) training on the Piper Seneca-V and excelling in Multi-Crew Coordination/Jet Orientation on a Boeing 737-400 full-flight simulator. Notably, his spirit of exploration led him to embrace an exceptional opportunity—an exhilarating three-hour aerobatic UPRT course aboard the Extra 300L aircraft.

Seals of Excellence: Certifications and Beyond

Alessandro's credentials mirror his unwavering dedication. Holding an EASA Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) conferred by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) and a UK ATPL from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), he proudly boasts a valid Boeing 737 300-900 Type Rating. His pursuit of excellence culminated in his participation in the FAA ATP/CTP course at Alliance Aviation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in January 2023.

A Symbiosis of Horizons: An Academic Odyssey

Alessandro's journey transcends the skies, having achieved the distinction of graduating as an Information Technology Expert from I.T.I. Informatico G. Bearzi in Udine, Italy. His academic prowess shines even more radiantly through the acquisition of a Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Aviation Management from Buckinghamshire New University in the UK.
