ExP-G Tomana dies

Tomana was appointed Zimbabwe ambassador to the DRC by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in September 2020.

ZIMBABWE'S ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and former Prosecutor-General Johannes Tomana died yesterday at his Honde Valley rural home at the age of 55.

Foreign Affairs ministry spokesperson Livit Mugejo confirmed the death.

“I can confirm that he passed on today (yesterday) in Honde Valley. That is all that I can say at the moment,” Mugejo said.

Tomana was appointed Zimbabwe ambassador to the DRC by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in September 2020.

Tomana served as Prosecutor-General under the late former President Robert Mugabe’s leadership from November 2013 until June 2017.

Before he was appointed Prosecutor-General, he served as the Attorney-General from  December 2008 to November 2013.
