Former Kaizer Chiefs star bares it all in reality show

Kanye lost it all during his heyday and he is excited to get another chance to remedy where he faltered.

FORMER Kaizer Chiefs player, Junior Khanye was known as one of the youngest and best football stars in South Africa and had the world at his feet before everything went belly up.

Kanye lost it all during his heyday and he is excited to get another chance to remedy where he faltered.

From the football pitch, Khanye is making a comeback as an author, entrepreneur, owner of a football academy and reinventing his career as a football analyst.

He is now letting the public into his life as he tries to pick up the pieces of his life on Fixing the Game: Junior Khanye, a 14-part reality show.

The show is set to premiere on Mzansi Wethu DStv Channel 163 on July 11.

Through the show, Khanye is taking Mzansi on an off-the-pitch journey as he faces the biggest “game” of his life which he calls a “second chance at life”.

“I know that not everyone gets an opportunity and platform like this one and I know it is God’s way of helping me teach other people about making the right choices in life,” Khanye said.

“I am honoured and humbled and through this reality show, I want to be an example that every change you want in your life starts with you.”

The DStv’s director for local entertainment channels Shirley Adonisi said they brought to viewers reality shows like Fixing the Game: Junior Khanye not just for entertainment, but for valuable lessons from some of the most admired public personalities on how they navigate life.

Adonisi said everyone loved a good comeback story and Fixing the Game: Junior Khanye was one such story they hoped viewers would enjoy and identify with.

“The reality show [Fixing the Game: Junior Khanye] is more than just about his time on the field, because for Khanye this “game” is all about winning back the heart of his first love and fixing the relationship that will benefit his kids, his family and career,” Adonisi said.

“After scoring many own goals, some of which were documented on Mzansi Magic’s I Blew It and various other online platforms, for Khanye this will prove to be a tough challenge as this will come with many conditions.”

It remains to be seen if Khanye will succeed in this rematch to redeem himself where it matters most and be that example of how one’s life can be turned around with honest effort.
