BEITBRIDGE-BASED actor Linos “Thabiso” Mandongwe has apologised to his fans and relatives who may have viewed his recent “suicidal” stunt as exposing his susceptibility to commit suicide.
Thabiso runs shops which sell electrical gadgets including mobile phones and accessories, television sets and cars.
His recent video skit went viral in which he plays the role of a dejected suicidal lover who had been ditched by the girl he had sacrificed everything for, including buying her a car.
In the skit, Thabiso is seated behind a speeding vehicle with the passenger recording the car's speedometer as it clocks 180 kilometres per hour.
Thabiso told NewsDay Life & Style that he was marketing his car to a buyer who ended up driving away with the vehicle.
“I was testing the vehicle with the eventual buyer who later drove away with the car after we completed the sale. I am not suicidal and hope to have a very long life ahead of me,” he said.
“I drove at that speed for a very short distance. I love life and want to live it to the fullest. I dislike death,” he laughed.
Thabiso noted that the video coincided with a nasty dream about him by his superstitious aunt.

“When the skit was posted to her (aunt), she said her dream had come true. Funny enough though, before I made the video, she had told some family members about her ‘nasty’ dream,” he said.
“I want to apologise to those who may have found it disturbing, it was just a joke.”
