BULAWAYO-BASED teen singer Denzel Chingwalo (19), popularly known as Flegtee the Gwaanbaad in music circles, is basking in the glory of his double release, Kudhara and Ndiri Kutyisa Kunge Cyclone.

The singer told NewsDay Life & Style that he wants his music to speak to people and be able to move them just like the music of veteran musicians.

“What motivates me most is that I want to talk to the nation through music. I want to give people peace of mind through my music like the likes of Freeman (Emegy Sylvester Chizanga), Seh Calaz (Tawanda Mumanyi), Nutty O (Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa) and some Jamaican artistes who motivate me to do better in the music industry,” he said.

“My first track was a collaboration with my friend Jnr Sparks released about four years ago. The message engraved in the latest two tracks is there to give the public self-confidence and encourage them to do their own things.”

Chingwalo said the latest songs carried a love theme.

“The track Kudhara talks about two people who are in love. With a pact that when one decides to quit the relationship, they must be allowed to do so. Someone must not be forced to stay in that relationship,” he noted.

“The song Ndiri Kutyisa Kunge Cyclone talks about me and the shows that I have done. In the song, I am talking about all that I have achieved as far as my music career is concerned.”

Chingwalo said he received positive feedback for the songs, adding that he was working towards growing his social media platforms.
