TEEN sensation, Andrea The Vocalist has promised to deliver a scintillating performance when he debuts at the forthcoming 11th edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival.
The annual three-day cultural jamboree will run from April 28 to 30 at Elephant Hills Resort.
As they say dynamite come in small packages, at the age of 14, the teen singer — born Andrea Sibanda — has become a music sensation and will be the youngest Zimbabwean artiste to grace the carnival’s main stage.
At the carnival, he will be part of a stellar lineup of both local and seasoned international acts.
Andrea is proving to be perfecting his art, given his enthralling live performance at the recently held National Arts Merit Awards where he left the crowd spellbound.
Through his melodic voice, the teen star has made southern Africa dance. Having started singing at a tender age of five, at church and at home, it was just a matter of time before blossoming into a flower and seven years later his voice has echoed and reverberated across southern Africa.
Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, Andrea’s manager Tendai Joe, the founder of JBross Entertainment Label said the teen singer will ride it solo and there will be no collaborations on the stage.
“Andrea The Vocalist is counting down and eager for the carnival performance. Fans can anticipate a memorable performance in store. He will perform new material in addition to his latest single Amanxeba and of course in the mix of things will be the popular Uhambo,” Joe said.

“He has plenty of time to rehearse and record new songs since it is the school holidays.”
It was the song Uhambo, which translates to “the journey”, that catapulted Andrea to stardom.
South African recording artist Aubrey Qwana then collaborated with him for a remake of the hit track.
Meanwhile, the carnival organisers have confirmed Nigerian singer-and songwriter CKay, a rising star in the ever-burgeoning Afrobeats scene as part of the stars to perform at the carnival’s main stage.
The carnival’s main stage at Elephant Hills Resort will feature over 30 of Africa’s hottest music acts on one stage from Friday April 28 to Sunday April 30.
For the main stage performance, CKay also known as Africa’s Boyfriend joins the already confirmed stellar line-up of artistes, who include Musa Keys, Jah Prayzah, Doll Ya Mama, Oskido, LKG, Black Motion, Mi Casa and Mafikizolo.
In a statement CKay said: “The mission is to take African music to the world. We have already done that, but it is still work in progress, still doing, working, adding more building blocks every day, trying to expand our reach.
“I feel African music is too amazing to keep to ourselves, I think we should spread it and hold on to it at the same time.”
CKay’s hit songs Love Nwantiti and Felony earned him global recognition with the former single spurring multiple international remixes and TikTok users from across the world further solidified his place at the top with the Love Nwantiti dance challenge.
His remix of Love Nwantiti featuring DJ Yo and Axel became the most “Shazamed” song in the world and propelled him into the history books as the first African artist to hit 20 million Spotify listeners.
Some of the artistes who have confirmed and scheduled to perform at the festival are Mzansi’s amapiano musician Musa Keys, dancehall singer Enzo Ishall, DJ FreakNite, McGee, Sol Phenduka and songbird Anita Jaxson, among others.
Popular Mzansi media personality Boitumelo Thulo will also be among the hosts during the festivities.
The carnival will this year be crossing the Zambezi River into Zambia in a series of special events titled Vic Falls CarnivalPresents — Destination: Livingstone.
Some of the headlining acts from the main carnival will be held in partnership with Timedia and Radisson Blu Hotel Mosi-Oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort, the host venue in Zambia.
The carnival’s general access one day ticket pass is pegged at US$50, two-day pass is US$65 and three-day pass cost US$90.
For the VIP ticket, a three day pass is selling at US$295.
It includes access to a VIP viewing deck with a private VIP bar and toilet facilities, private pool party (April 29), sunset cruise that will include drinks and snacks.
The pass also allows the holder to attend live performances at Pure Africa on April 28 and April 29.
It also includes a private VIP party with headline acts on April 30.
