Leading paint manufacturing and retail giant Nash Paints is celebrating 15 years in the industry and the company’s chief operations officer Providence Mugayi says they owe their success to professionalism, consistency, hard work, innovation and unparalleled commitment to customer service.

Mugayi said they were happy to have clocked the 15-year mark and thanked all their clients and stakeholders for the support and loyalty.

“It has been a remarkable 15-year journey since 2008 and we are happy to boasting of over 60 branches under our brand and employing over 2500 directly and indirectly," he said.

“From humble beginnings at Chikwanha in Chitungwiza, we have grown into a regional powerhouse with presence in Zambia and Botswana.

“All that is thanks to the professional leadership of founder and executive chairman, our brand culture and the overall systems guiding our operations.

“Plants are also afoot to spread our tentacles across Africa and beyond.”

The company was founded by Tinashe Mutarisi and has over the years opened other strategic business units covering furniture, boards, food, mining, construction and media to name a few.

“Joining the paint-manufacturing sector was no stroll in the park given the competition and being a wholly indigenous company made our situation even more challenging,” Mugayi said.

“Our passion for excellence coupled with an intrinsic desire to play our part in economic and indeed national development made the challenges and wins we faced along the way a great joy.”

Mugayi said Nash Paints was a one stop business for all the client’s paint needs.

“The company produces different paints with categories ranging from decorative, industrial, automotive and woodline,” he said.

“We offer painting accessories and professional painting services and have the capacity to handle multi-million-dollar projects.

“We have over the years invested in the best technology coupled with a competent and passionate team that helps us drive the work.”

Beyond innovation, quality products and professionalism, Mutarisi said they owe their success to good customer relations and the general goodwill they enjoy in the market.

“What has made us a market leader and brand of choice is our ability to gel and relate with the market,” Mutarisi said.

“We are a brand for and by the people making our services and products market tested and tailor made to suit the needs of the client.

“We provide automotive and decorative paints, after sales services, consultancy and accessories in a manner that meets customer expectations in terms of quality of service, competitive pricing and timeous delivery.”

While they have faced some normal challenges along the way, Nash Paints manufactures its own high-quality brands — Nash and Decorama.

They also stock high quality abrasive products with the full support of colour matching machines and exact formula retrieval, a key element in customer satisfaction and support services.

“Our journey has not been devoid of challenges,” Mutarisi said.

“Along the way we have faced monumental challenges some related to the generally challenging economic environment, some market related and as of recently the unfortunate fire outbreak that cost us millions. 

“Amidst all those challenges, we remain steadfast in our quest to serve both country and client and we promise an even better experience from here on.” 

Mugayi said they were a company that cares for the community and they have over the years invested in corporate social responsibility. 

“We are happy that we have deliberately invested in giving back to the community through our structured and consistent corporate social responsibility programmes under the brand ‘Be nice for no price’ and these include supporting the Winds of Grace Orphanage on an ongoing basis, paying school and university fees for a primary, secondary and tertiary students, painting homes of deserving individuals or organisation as well as providing employment for over 2 500 direct and indirect people.

“We are also exploring various private and public partnerships with local councils which will allow us to play a part in beautifying the cities and towns.

“We believe in corporate social investment and for as long as we are in operation we will always give back to the community.

“Related to our successes, we are also happy to have started NashTV during the Covid-19 era as a measure to help the nation copy with the stress and trauma of the pandemic-imposed national lockdown.

“We are happy that this venture has helped herald and promote local talent though it was not initially part of our strategic plans.
