GOHORI Resort, a premier boutique lodge in Mutoko, has announced a significant expansion of its luxury offerings, including a new presidential suite and an exclusive members-only bar.
This development cements the resort's focus on the high-end market.
Situated at the foothills of Gohori Mountain, the lodge is already a popular choice for corporate clients, featuring a large conference room with state-of-the-art equipment that can accommodate up to 400 people.
The new luxury wing, dubbed the Gohori Club Collection, is scheduled for completion by March 2026, in time for the northern hemisphere summer travel season.
According to founder and owner Bernard Kasekete, the collection is inspired by the traditions of the Budya people and is designed to embody tranquillity.
“This has been a long time coming,” he said.
“The new presidential suite will deliver an elevated offering that aligns with prestigious suites worldwide,” the company stated.
“The selected site is surrounded by Mutoko's abundant native vegetation and offers an unobstructed view of the Gohori and surrounding mountains.”

As part of this luxury drive, the resort will also introduce a new lunch menu aimed at establishing Gohori Resort as a must-visit dining destination in Zimbabwe.
A key feature of the Gohori Club Collection will be the members-only Hwesa Bar.
Kasekete explained the design philosophy.
“Everything at Gohori Resort uses organic shapes and earthy tones to blend with the natural surroundings. For the bar, we incorporated specific lighting, the dense vegetation, and the mountain backdrop to create an establishment perfectly suited for both relaxation and purpose."
This expansion is part of a larger tourism recovery trend in Mutoko, which is seeing significant new investment in infrastructure.
