Develop a system to detect fake licences

Driver’s licence verification is a process that involves confirming the validity and authenticity of an individual’s driver’s licence.

SINCE 2000, many Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom have acquired fake driver’s licences through corrupt Vehicle Inspectorate Department officials in Zimbabwe.

To counter the flood of fake driver’s licences being submitted to those in the UK, Zimbabwean authorities should develop an online system that can be used to authenticate the licences.

Zimbabwe’s law enforcement agencies, employers in the UK and other service providers can verify driver’s licences of individuals on the system.

Zimbabwe has a centralised electronic driver’s licencing database that has all records of provisional and licenced drivers, which can be updated and accessed by relevant authorities, who may want to verify the validity of a driver’s licence at a cost.

Driver’s licence verification is a process that involves confirming the validity and authenticity of an individual’s driver’s licence.

Driver’s licence verification is typically performed by organisations or entities requiring proof that one has complied with the requirements of the Roads Act to drive.

Driver’s licence verification serves several purposes, including confirming the identity of an individual, and assessing eligibility for certain privileges or services that may require a valid driver’s licence.

It helps organisations mitigate risks associated with fraudulent licences, identify individuals with a history of traffic violations or suspensions, and help authorities make informed decisions based on accurate and up-to-date information.

To be able to drive freely on UK roads, having a genuine driver’s licence is mandatory. Therefore, Zimbabwe should make it easier for UK authorities to verify Zimbabwe driver's licences. The system should make it easier for an immigrant to pay for the verification process.

This system will prevent Zimbabweans from producing fake licences.

The solution will also generate the much-needed foreign currency for the government of Zimbabwe.
