The vendors were given until Monday to relocate to designated areas, but they say the regulated areas have no ablution facilities and cannot accommodate the thousands of informal traders that throng the CBD.

Last week Presidential Guard commander, Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwa, Local Government minister, Ignatius Chombo, Harare Provincial Affairs minister, Miriam Chikukwa gave vendors a seven day ultimatum to leave the CBD and relocate to designated areas, a development that could trigger a tense standoff between the informal traders and government.
