Dynamos’ nearest rivals Highlanders also finished on 69 points, but had scored 49 goals in comparison to the champions’ 58. The champions won 21 games, drew six and lost three while Highlanders won 20 of their matches, but played nine draws and lost once.
Bosso beat Blue Rangers 2-0 at Gwanzura Stadium in Harare yesterday. Highlanders goalkeeper Arial Sibanda will now take the Goalkeeper of the Year award after conceding 15 goals from the 30 matches he played this season.
Needing a point going into the final match, Dynamos went ahead in the 35th minute before Hardbody hit back in the 52nd minute. This is coach Kalisto Pasuwa’s second consecutive title — the first also came via goal difference last season over FC Platinum — and is still in with a chance of repeating last year’s league and cup double as his team is in the final of the Mbada Diamonds Cup.
They play Monomotapa this Saturday.
