Black Rhinos target fellow strugglers

BLACK Rhinos gaffer Saul Chaminuka

BLACK Rhinos gaffer Saul Chaminuka is confident the next two assignments against Sheasham and Simba Bhora will kick start their fight to stay above the water line in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Chaminuka took over Black Rhinos from Stix Mutizwa at a time the ship was already sinking.

So far, he has tried with little success to lift the team, which remains at the bottom of the PSL standings.

The army side have amassed 10 points on their tally after 15 matches. They have two wins, four draws and nine losses. However, the former Warriors assistant is hopeful to turn a corner in the next two matches as the season reaches the halfway mark.

So far they have signed Evans Katema from Dynamos and are making frantic efforts to get Martin Ofori on loan from the same team since he is not registered.

Chaminuka said: “The problem is that we haven’t scored as much as we are supposed to.

“We created chances but still we couldn't score. This has been happening in the last few games.

“But the next games will be key in shaping our destiny. I think we are playing teams that have been struggling as well.

“It’s a perfect space for us to start picking up points. We need to garner more wins. There is hope, because we are really not far off the safe zone.”

They drew 1-1 with Hwange over the weekend and they hope to collect maximum points when they take on Sheasham in what will be a battle of strugglers at Bata stadium this weekend.

Sheasham are trying to find their footing after kicking out John Nyikadzino whom they replaced with Lizwe Sweswe.
