Botswana’s finmin sees growth recovery in 2016 after last year’s dip

BOTSWANA’S economy is expected to grow by 4,2% this year after slowing to 1% in 2015 due to falling diamond production, water and power shortages in the southern African country, the finance minister said on Monday.

Kenneth Mtambo told parliament during his 2016/17 national budget speech that an economic stimulus package by the government as well as a recovery in the global economy would help lift Botswana’s growth this year.-Reuters
