The Deputy Editor of the Zimbabwe Independent, Stewart Chabwinja, is no more.
He was 45.
Chabwinja died in the early hours of Thursday after suffering chest pains.
A humble and spirited gentleman, Chabwinja joined Alpha Media Holdings in 2002 as a sub-editor for The Standard before moving up the ladder in 2008, to become the Chief Sub-Editor for AMH’s business weekly, The Zimbabwe Independent.
In March 2012, he was appointed the Assistant editor for the Zimbabwe Independent, a paper that he worked for as Acting Editor briefly in 2013 before becoming the Deputy Editor, a position he held until his death.
