SOUTH African premier league side Kaizer Chiefs are waiting to hear from striker Knowledge Musona regarding his plans when his loan spell expires at the end of the campaign.
The striker is currently signed to German club Hoffenheim, where he failed to make an impact prior to his return to Naturena in the off-season.
“We have given Musona an opportunity to think through his situation,” Chiefs general manager Bobby Motaung told Amakhosi’s official website.
“We have an agreement in place with his German team, Hoffenheim, which we will review at the end of the season.”
Musona made a surprise return to Kaizer Chiefs, having attracted interest from other European clubs particularly in England, Belgium and Netherlands. After the expiry of his one-season long loan deal with Chiefs he will still have another year left on his contract with the German side.
Kaizer Chiefs could have the option of signing Musona permanently unless Hoffenheim decide to give the forward another run.
Motaung also revealed Tsepo Masilela is set to pen a new deal with the Glamour Boys, while veteran midfielders Josta Dladla and Siyabonga Nkosi will soon resume contract extension talks.
“Negotiations have gone well with all but one (Lehlohonolo Majoro) of the players that have their contracts running out at the end of the season. (Willard) Katsande and (Eric) Mathoho have their contracts extended to 2017 and Masilela is waiting to sign on the dotted line while Dladla and Nkosi negotiations will resume soon,” said Motaung.
