SOUTH Africa’s DJ Cndo makes her way to Harare tomorrow for a show at the newly-opened Club H2O in Borrowdale.
The Durban-based DJ Cndo will be accompanied by DJ Lady Cream and DJ Dino Bravo who performs tonight at the same venue.
DJ Cndo and DJ Lady Cream who are not new to Zimbabwe are likely to be well poised to enjoy their one legged tour while for DJ Dino Bravo it is a new experience altogether.
Events management company Eventworx recently took over H2O and is rebranding it to cater for both young and mature patrons.
Eventworx spokesperson Lyndon Kapuya said this weekend would set the tone for what is going to be a fun-filled and exciting festive season.
“Anyone who loves kwaito will be wowed by their innovative mixes and sheer talent when it comes to music selection and delivery,” said Kapuya.
The touring DJs will be supported by DJ Smoove who is the resident mix master at the club.
The last time that DJ Cndo performed in Harare she had a tough time keeping up with the standards set by local wheel spinner DJ Storm at the Private Lounge.
But Kapuya believes that performance alone cannot be used as a yardstick for what she can do.
“DJ Cndo and Lady Cream are doing very well in South Africa and they command a strong following,” he said.
“I liken artistes to athletes in that form is temporary but class is permanent and for that we have engaged them because they are a class act.”
