FORMER Warriors and Caps United striker Nyasha Mushekwi has been offered a year-long loan deal at Belgian topflight side KV Oostende with the prospect of a permanent move in future.
Mushekwi underwent a two week trial at the club and gave a good impression of himself to trigger transfer talks between the Pro Ligue side and his South African club Sundowns.
The Belgian side has revealed they intend to use Mushekwi as a second striker.
Mushekwi has been linked with a European move for a couple of years with suggestions of clubs in the Barclays Premiership and Germany’s Bundesliga having been made.
On the other hand, Warriors attacker Khama Billiat failed the Lokomotiv Moscow test after the club turned down a chance to sign him after a two week assessment.
Billiat is still linked with a move away from Ajax Cape Town with Absa Premier League giants Orlando Pirates and Sundowns reported to be interested in his signature.
Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral, however, said the player would spend another season with the club.
“I had a brief chat with him and he is going to stay with the club,” Ertugral said. “He is a quality player and must stay one more season with Ajax.”
Ertugral adds: “He has overstayed his welcome in South Africa and deserves to play in Europe. He has the potential to play overseas. I am going to work with him and polish a few things before he goes overseas.”
