Triangle accommodates rejects

CAPS United and Dynamos rejects David Kutyauripo, Nyasha Mukumbi and Marven Samaneka are set to join Castle Lager Premiership debutantes Triangle ahead of the new season.

Report by Staff Writer

Kutyauripo was deemed surplus to requirements by Dynamos who left him out of their Caf Champions League squad, while Mukumbi and Samaneka are searching for new jobs after being dismissed by Caps last season for indiscipline.

Caps has moved into the transfer market where it hopes to revitalise its under-performing squad by injecting youthful players.

But it is Triangle that is threatening to rival the big guns for the headlines as coach Gishon Ntini shops on the “free” market to add experience to his squad.

Kutyauripo was expected to make the Champions League squad but numerous clashes with Dynamos coach Kalisto Pasuwa saw him being sidelined in a clear message that he is no longer wanted in the Glamour Boys’ camp.

According to sources, the players are close to completing their move to the Chiredzi-based side whose ambition is to permanently stay in the topflight league.

Caps are in a fix over huge salary contracts signed during Farai Jere’s time at the club. Jere, who was the club’s vice president, has since quit the Green Machine and Caps is looking to cut its wage bill by getting rid of some of its highly paid but underperforming players.

Among the youthful players lined up by the Green Machine are Zambian attacker Jeffrey Kupelwa. Norest Mukwezaramba who was on loan to relegated Blue Rangers has been recalled while Chicken Inn’s Kuda Mahachi is also a top target.

Caps is also looking at signing Tawanda Naymandwe and Tendai Ngulube, who plied their trade for Monomotapa last term.
