IDA Conquip has a track record that goes back more than 50 years in the sales and servicing of construction equipment for the mining, quarrying, construction, material handling, road building and forestry industries in Zimbabwe.
This includes operating beyond borders in Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi.
Conquip’s approach is total customer focus and the job doesn’t end with delivery of the product; rather it is only the beginning. It is due to Conquip’s belief in fully understanding and supporting customers’ needs that a high level of repeat business is realised.
Being a Zimbabwean company owned by Zimbabweans, Conquip are proud to announce their recent exclusive partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment.
Volvo Construction Equipment are among the world’s leading manufacturers of articulated haulers, wheel loaders, excavation equipment, road development machines and compact construction equipment. Volvo products and services are offered in more than 125 countries worldwide. At 180 years old this year, Volvo CE is the oldest construction equipment manufacturer in the industry.
In Zimbabwe, Volvo is very popular in the earthmoving, construction and mining industries. The popular models include the Volvo articulated trucks in the 30 and 40 tonne categories and the industry leading range of wheel loaders and excavators to suit. Conquip has enjoyed tremendous success with the Volvo BL61 back hoe loader used on many construction sites throughout the country.
The Volvo BL61 back hoe loader is an ideal “utility’’ tool for most reasonably sized construction sites. There have been many new, emerging construction companies that have seized on this opportunity and enjoyed the versatility and success that this remarkable tool brings to the job site. It is ideally suited to Zimbabwe’s difficult conditions of heat and dust, and is able to perform multi-task jobs such as excavating, loading, backfilling and lifting.
This machine is standard with one cubic metre front shovel and a rear excavator with 610mm wide bucket, ideal for trenching. The machine features full 4 x 4 wheel drive for extreme traction in difficult conditions as well as fully enclosed pressurised cabin for operator comfort. The Volvo engine along with driveline all add up to one of the best back hoe loaders on the market.
In addition to the Volvo CE range, Conquip continues to be the number one supplier of compaction equipment to the construction industry. This includes Wacker Neson which Conquip has exclusively represented in Zimbabwe for more than 35 years and makes it one of Wacker’s oldest dealers in the world. Wacker world famous rammers and plates are found in every corner of the world, and Zimbabwe is no exception. Over the years, thousands of units have been supplied to construction and civil sites throughout Zimbabwe. Apart from plates and rammers Wacker Neuson is also well known for trash water pumps especially designed for construction sites as well as lighting plants, and a range of mini construction equipment that caters for all aspects of compaction, concrete and earthmoving site requirements.
Conquip is also able to address the needs of the larger construction and civil engeneering companies tasked with road maintenance and construction.
Apart from the above-mentioned equipment applying to this segment, the more specialised larger compactors as well as specialised asphalt equipment is covered by Wirtgen equipment which also includes Hamm rollers, Vogele asphalt equipment and Etnyre chip spreaders. This is a much specialised range of equipment and is becoming more important as major road projects are implemented in Zimbabwe.
